WHAT IT "IS"
WHAT IT "IS NOT"
Hand-Coded With Fewest Dependency Files
Keeping it simple and small without forfieting features were the main goals when designing PageTown CMS. Out-of-the-box, all but a few of the PageTown website themes have only two (2) include/linked files, the CSS stylesheets, and the others have no more than four (4) include/linked files, counting the stylesheets. Hand coding and the fewest possible links to external sources ensure faster loading pages.
PageTown is a straight PHP/MySQL script and is not dependent on any other framework or library.
Responsive Design
The ever-changing landscape of mobile devices means that user expectations are also constantly changing. People expect to be able to browse the web on their smartphones and tablets just as easily as they browse the web on a desktop computer.
PageTown websites are designed to look great on all screens from desktop computers to the latest smartphones and other mobile devices.
Customizing A PageTown Theme
The difference(s) in themes is mostly subtle, mainly in the appearance, or layout, of the webpage landing/welcome frame (the part of the page in view when a visitor arrives at the website) and the contact/footer sections. Most themes are designed in the full-page width style (in screens/displays up to 1920 pixels wide), a few are designed with a partial-page width, framed style.
The CMS backend is an easy-to-use interface that allows the user to make changes to the webpage content through a handful of simple forms. You can completely change the look of a webpage/theme by deleting or swapping the supplied sample data, like the placeholder text and images, and replacing them with your own. You can further customize a theme by changing or adding text and background colors or background images.
